Detailed Itinerary
Day 1: Nairobi to Samburu national reserve
Depart from your hotel in Nairobi in the morning after your breakfast on a scenic road trip crossing the Equator line to Samburu national reserve. A short enroute game drive as you drive to your safari lodge within the reserve, reaching in time for lunch. After check in and lunch, your safari guide will take you on your first game drive to search for the unique wildlife of Samburu that include the beisa oryx, Somali ostrich, reticulated giraffe, gerenuk and the grevy’s zebra among other wildlife. Overnight back at the safari lodge.
Day 2: Game drives and Samburu Cultural tour
Early morning rise to catch the first ray of sunlight light up the Samburu wilderness and for a chance to watch some predator and prey action as the animals are more active during the early morning hours and cooler hours of the day. Return to your safari lodge for breakfast and thereafter, you will visit a Samburu village for a guided cultural tour. Interact with the Samburu people and get to experience their local traditions and culture.
Drive back o the safari lodge for lunch and after an afternoon of relaxation, you will head out in the pack for another game drive to catch a glimpse of more wildlife in Samburu national reserve. Overnight at the safari lodge.
Day 3: Full day game in Samburu national reserve
Leisure morning rise, have your breakfast and with packed food for lunch, head out into the vast remote wilderness and drive deeper in search of the wildlife that call Samburu home. Look out for elephants, lions, zebras, giraffes, hippos, leopards, dik-dik, gerenuks, oryx, hyena among others. Stop at designated picnic spot to have your lunch as you enjoy the stunning views of the wild.
After lunch drive to the famous Ewaso Ng’iro River, an important feature in the reserves ecosystem that supports the wildlife in the Samburu all year round. Great wildlife sighting around the banks of the river. Return to the safari loge for a relaxing evening, dinner and overnight.
Day 4: Last game drive -End of safari
Head out into the reserve in the early morning for one last game drive to capture some more amazing wildlife action and witness the park to life one more time. You will then return to the safari lodge for breakfast and check out.
Drive back to Nairobi for a drop off at the hotel or airport or continue to your next adventure.
