Detailed Itinerary
Day 1: To Samburu national reserve
Transfer from your hotel in Nairobi city after your breakfast and drive North wards crossing the equator to end up in Samburu national reserve arriving in the afternoon. You will have a late afternoon game drive on this day to officially start off your wildlife safari.
Day 2: Samburu national reserve exploration
Explore different parts of the unique Northern national reserve for chances of encountering the special five of Samburu, the reticulated giraffe, grevy’s zebra, Somali ostrich, beisa oryx and long necked gerenuk among other animals like elephants, lions, leopards, elands, gazelles and more. Drive to the Ewaso Ng’iro River for more rewarding wildlife spotting and later in the day, you could go on a cultural tour to one of the Samburu villages. Retreat to your lodge at sunset for dinner and overnight.
Day 3: To Lake Nakuru national park
You will cross the equator once again as you drive to Lake Nakuru national park arriving in the afternoon. Have lunch and relax at your lodge and later in the early afternoon head out on a game drive to explore the park. Renowned for Lake Nakuru and the millions of pink flamingos that breed and feed at the shores of the soda lake. You will encounter different animals including zebras, giraffes, hippos, wildebeests, rhinos, buffalo, baboons, lion, leopard, waterbucks, monkeys among others. Overnight at the lodge.
Day 4: Lake Nakuru national park exploration
Explore the beautiful park on a full day game drive expedition around the different regions of the park. You can opt for a birding experience around the Lake Nakuru and guided walking safaris. Visit the Makalia falls on a rewarding hike. Overnight at the lodge.
Day 5: To Nairobi
An exit game drive marks the end of your 5-day wildlife safari in Samburu and Lake Nakuru national park. Enroute stopover at the Rift valley view point. Drop off at the Jomo Kenyatta international airport.
