The Samburu National reserve can be visited all year round but there are favorable months depending on your interests. There are two seasons in Samburu National reserve: The dry and wet season. They both come in two phases. The dry season runs from December to February and Mid June to September. The wet seasons run from October to November and March to mid June.
Samburu in March is the first month of the wet season and it runs from March to Mid June. March being the first month, chances are high the rains may be lees or even none and therefore, you can still have a normal hike. Visiting during this time is usually not recommended since the trails are muddy and wet. Sometimes it can also be less enjoyable depending on the person but it can be a great adventure for some other people. It will although limit you on certain things like you may avoid a certain trail when it’s impassable and may miss out on photo opportunities.
