The Samburu National reserve can be visited all year round but there are favorable months depending on your interests. There are two seasons in Samburu National reserve: The dry and wet season. They both come in two phases. The dry season runs from December to February and Mid June to September. The wet seasons run from October to November and March to mid June. In most cases, in Tanzania, may is known as the most wet month together with November. Its part of the wet seasons that runs from March to mid June.
Samburu in May is usually not recommended since the trails are muddy and wet. Sometimes it can also be less enjoyable depending on the person but it can be a great adventure for some other people. It will although limit you on certain things like you may avoid a certain trail when it’s impassable and may miss out on photo opportunities.
The wet season if one can find a way out, is the best time for people that don’t want the crowds and want quiet and peace and tranquility while in the wild.
