The Samburu National reserve can be visited all year round but there are favorable months depending on your interests. There are two seasons in Samburu National reserve: The dry and wet season. They both come in two phases. The dry season runs from December to February and Mid June to September. The wet seasons run from October to November and March to mid June.
Samburu in June is the transition month from the dry and wet seasons. There more this month can be considered a drier month especially if there have been enough rains on the previous months of March to May. This however doesn’t guarantee what whether you will experience and there for just like February. You should park and prepare for both Wet and dry spells o you hike.
This month being a transition month, it’s a good timing as it has fewer people and it has a mixture of wet and dry season attributes.
