Detailed Itinerary
Day 1: Arrival in Nairobi, Kenya
Your 6-day safari starts with a pick up from the airport. Upon your arrival, a company representative will be waiting to drive you to your hotel in Nairobi where you will spend the night. If you arrive in the country in the earlier hours of the day, you can take on a short Nairobi city tour. Overnight at the hotel.
Day 2: Nairobi to Samburu national reserve
Early morning, your tour guide will pick you up and you take your transfer to Samburu national reserve where by the afternoon you will be arriving at your accommodation facility where you will check in, have lunch and later go on a game drive to get acquainted with the residents of the unique reserve. Overnight in the lodge.
Day 3: In Samburu national reserve
Spend the whole day exploring this pristine unique wilderness expecting to encounter its special rare Northern species, that is the reticulated giraffe, grevy’s zebra, beisa oryx, Somali ostrich and the gerenuk. Other animals you will encounter include elephants, lions, baboons, gazelles, hyenas, hippos, monkeys, cheetahs, leopards among others. Optional cultural tour to a Samburu village. Day 4: Transfer to Maasai Mara national reserve
Morning safari breakfast, check out and transfer to the mighty Maasai Mara national reserve, the most popular reserve in the whole of Kenya. You will be in Maasai Mara in the afternoon, check in at your lodge and have lunch. You can spend the rest of the day relaxing at your lodge, enjoying the ambiance and the stunning views of the vast Maasai Mara reserve or go on a short game drive. Overnight in the lodge.
Day 5: In Maasai Mara national reserve
A day exploring the Maasai Mara national reserve offers visitors the best African wilderness experience. Take to the park driving to different areas at different times to maximize your animals and bird views. A chance to spot the big 5, lion, elephant, rhino, buffalo and leopard among other animals like the wildebeests, zebras, giraffes, hippos, crocodiles, kudus, waterbucks, impalas, elands, primates and more.
Take a drive to the famous Mara rive for chances of witnessing the great wildlife migration if you are visiting the park during the migration period. Overnight in the lodge.
Day 6: To Nairobi – Departure
One last game drive in Maasai Mara before you set off back to Nairobi. You could also opt for an early morning hot air balloon safari that is complimented with a bottle of champagne on landing. You will be dropped off at the airport in Nairobi.
