Detailed Itinerary
Day 1: Nairobi to Ol Pejeta conservancy
From your hotel in Nairobi, your safari guide will pick you after your breakfast and drive to Ol Pejeta conservancy, driving through tea and coffee plantations till you arrive in the conservancy in the afternoon. Check in at your lodge and have your lunch. You will embark on a game drive later in the day expecting to encounter the Big 5, the lion, leopard, elephant, buffalo and rhino among other animals that inhabit Ol Pejeta. Overnight at the lodge.
Day 2: Ol Pejeta conservancy exploration
Enjoy a full day of game viewing in Ol Pejeta driving to different areas of the wildlife rich conservancy. You will have a chance to see the play full chimpanzees inhabited within the Sweetwaters chimpanzee sanctuary, the only place in Kenya where you can see them. Visit the Rhino sanctuary for a chance to see the endangered black rhino and the critically endangered white rhinos. Other animals to expect within the conservancy include giraffes, grevy’s zebra, gazelles, elands, impala, hyenas, cheetahs, jackals, rare wild dogs, hartebeest, oryx, dik-dik among others.
Day 3: Ol Pejeta to Samburu national reserve
Depart Ol Pejeta conservancy after one last morning game drive for the unique Samburu national reserve. A scenic drive will see you arrive Samburu in the afternoon, after your lunch at the lodge, go on a game drive to explore the game reserve, driving to its lifeline, the Ewaso Ng’iro River which offers excellent wildlife sightings of elephants, hippos, buffalos, lions, zebras among others. Night at your lodge.
Day 4: Samburu national reserve exploration
Explore the Samburu national reserve on game drives at different times of the day for maximum wildlife views. Get the chance to spot Samburu’s special five species, the Somali ostrich, grevy’s zebras, besia oryx, reticulated giraffe and long necked gerenuk.
You will have a Samburu village cultural tour in the afternoon after your lunch and then continue with an evening game drive before you return to the lodge for the night.
Day 5: To Nairobi
Enjoy your safari breakfast and leisure morning at your lodge. Before you pack up and check out to start your journey back to Nairobi. On your way out of the reserve, look out for last minute wildlife sightings, Drop off at your hotel or at the airport in Nairobi.
