The Samburu National reserve can be visited all year round but there are favorable months depending on your interests. There are two seasons in Samburu National reserve: The dry and wet season. They both come in two phases. The dry season runs from December to February and Mid June to September. The wet seasons run from October to November and March to mid June. Samburu National Reserve in April is one of the months during this wet season which runs from March to Mid June. Being that it’s in the middle of the season, we expect by this time that the rains have intensified.
Travelling during this time is usually not recommended since the trails are muddy and wet. Sometimes it can also be less enjoyable depending on the person but it can be a great adventure for some other people. It will although limit you on certain things like you may avoid a certain trail when it’s impassable and may miss out on photo opportunities.
